PRIVACY POLICY & COOKIES

Quick Glance / Brief Intro / TL;DR:

Referencing to "we/us" in this privacy Policy relates to Sportsweb and it's network of websites.

You should be aware that when you use our websites, we use cookies and in doing so, collect the follow information: IP address (gathered via statcounter - web tracking software). We have also taken a company decision to mask the final IP digits within our tracking software to further enhance the anonymity of such information - this is done by changing the last octet to 0. For example, 111.1.111.123 the last '123' is not stored, and the IP Address is displayed as 111.1.111.??.

Other than anonymized IP addresses, we do not collect or process any personal identifying information such as email-address, location or financial information. Therefore you'll not be surprised to hear we also do not and cannot pass on, distribute or lease any personal information of visitors to any third party and have no interest in doing so.

We have appointed a data officer to oversee the current and future process of all data storage and processing from within the company. The officer can be contacted here

Analytics (Statcounter) and why we use it

We like to keep track of what pages and links are popular and which ones don't get used so much to help us keep our sites relevant and up to date. It's also very useful to be able to identify trends of how people navigate (find their way through) our sites and if they get 'error messages' from web pages. We do this via an external service @ http://statcounter.com. For full up to date cookie data, please see statcounter's official cookies-data blog

Statcounter: "Statcounter is an anonymous web tracking service. We don't attempt to identify an individual person . Our focus is on what visitors to your website do, not who that visitor is"

This group of cookies, often called 'analytics cookies' are used to gather this information. These cookies don't collect information that identifies you personally. The information collected is anonymous and is grouped with the information from everyone else’s cookies. We can then see the overall patterns of usage rather than any one person’s activity. Analytics cookies only record activity on the site you are on and they are only used to improve how a website works.

IP addresses may be collected, however, we do not and cannot identify the user behind the ip address with such information and we have also chosen to completely mask the final digits of each IP within the tracking software.

Affiliate Tracking Cookies and why we use it.

To gain credit and commission for sending customers to 3rd party websites (such as bet365), a unique number is added to the website domain that identifies and credits our company with sending any particular user who has clicked through a link. We do not hold, process or gather any personal information in this process and the cookie is only set when a link through to bet365 (or Unibet) is clicked.
